As institutional adoption of digital assets continues to gain momentum, the Elwood team has been on the ground at major industry events, engaging with top players and sharing insights into market trends.
February was a busy month! Here’s a recap of key takeaways from the events we attended around the world last month.
Global Alts Miami 2025: January 27-30
Elwood participated as a contributing sponsor at iConnections Global Alts Miami 2025, where discussions highlighted how traditional finance firms are evaluating digital asset integration. A major takeaway was the increasing interest for institutional-grade execution and risk management tools, as certain funds seek infrastructure that aligns with their existing operational frameworks.
The "Renaissance Opportunities in Digital Assets" panel — featuring Anchorage, Galaxy, Blockstream, and Grayscale — examined how institutions explore Fund-of-Funds (FoFs) and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) to gain digital asset exposure while managing risk. The event reinforced the importance of regulatory clarity, with industry participants closely monitoring policy shifts that could impact market evolution.
The three-day conference provided valuable insights into the maturing digital asset ecosystem and the growing demand for infrastructure supporting institutional engagement.
Digital Assets Forum (DAF) London: February 3
The Digital Assets Forum in London focused on the continued evolution of institutional engagement with digital assets. Discussions centered on market structure and regulatory developments, with crypto ETFs, stablecoins, and tokenization emerging as key themes.
Panelists on "Industry Outlook: Macro Trends and Predictions for 2025" — including Viska Digital Assets, Deus X Capital, and BCB Group — explored how macroeconomic conditions and policy changes, particularly in the U.S., could shape institutional adoption.
The presence of hedge funds, asset managers, and banks may reflect a growing interest in liquidity solutions and risk management tools within the industry, which could indicate a gradual increase in institutional engagement.
w3.vision x Blockstories: Digital Assets Season London Event: February 4
Elwood participated in w3group’s Digital Assets Season roadshow, which explored institutional adoption trends. The "Pizza, Pints & Digital Assets: London Edition" event facilitated discussions on how TradFi businesses approach digital assets in today’s market.
On the "ETPs, Macro Tailwinds, and a Regulatory Spring" panel, leaders from 21Shares, Deka, tradias, and DLT Finance assessed the evolving market structure under MiCA and the increasing demand for tokenized assets. Discussions highlighted the importance of navigating regulatory developments.
With over 100 attendees from traditional finance and digital-native firms, the event highlighted the role of technology and strategy in adapting to the dynamic digital assets landscape.
Consensus Hong Kong: February 18-20
The first-ever Consensus Hong Kong conference showcased the region’s expanding role in the digital asset market. The Elwood team noted that institutional interest appeared to be growing, with risk management and trading infrastructure receiving increased attention. "The Gateway to Liquidity for Institutions" panel, featuring speakers from Laser Digital and Zodia Markets, examined advancements in crypto market structure and regulatory developments post-FTX. Discussions with market participants, such as hedge funds, asset managers, and market makers, suggest a growing focus for sophisticated trading tools and risk oversight solutions.
Elwood also co-hosted the "Serpent Soirée: Digital Assets & Cocktails" networking event alongside EDX, LTP, and Anchorage Digital, bringing together industry participants for discussions on the future of digital assets.
Looking Ahead
Elwood remains committed to providing institutions with SaaS trading, portfolio, and risk management solutions designed to support their evolving needs.
As the digital assets industry continues to develop, regulatory and market conditions will shape the landscape. We look forward to sharing more insights from upcoming industry events, including FIA Boca and DAS NYC in March. Stay tuned!
